Gladys, 99, passed away May 24, 2018, at Prestige Assisted Living in Kalispell, MT.

Through her youth, she herded sheep, worked as a housekeeper, candeled eggs on a chicken farm, as a laundress at Ft. Gladys finally ended up working at the home of Tello and Lisa Peterson, where she met Harvey Peterson. They farmed at Opal, in Meade County, living in the sod house on the Harvey Talley ranch.

In 1939, they moved to Sturgis for a short time, then to Faith, then returning to Opal. Gladys said she always wished for a house with a lot of bedrooms, so in 1961 they moved to Faith and purchased the West Hotel. ) They ran the hotel for 20 years and farmed north of Faith.
